Originating from Cuba, the Strawberry Daiquiri is an iconic pink drink that has graced many movie sets. Best served chilled, it is a classy companion to an evening of slow jazz with good conversation. The best Strawberry Daiquiris are made with frozen strawberries instead of ice for a delicious slushy consistency that does not dilute the flavour.

INGREDIENTS

  • 250g frozen strawberries
  • 60g fresh strawberries
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • 1 tot (25ml) simple syrup
  • 2 tots (50ml) fresh lime juice
  • 4 tots (100ml) white rum
  • Garnish: strawberry

DIRECTIONS

In a blender, combine the lime with both the fresh and frozen strawberries.

Pour in the simple syrup, lime juice and white rum, and blend until smooth.

Pour into a glass.

GARNISH SUGGESTIONS

Garnish with a strawberry (cut a slit into the bottom of the strawberry) over the rim of the glass.

TIP!
