What is the difference between a Tequila Sunrise and Tequila Sunset cocktail?
Sunrise or sunset cocktail

A Tequila Sunrise is a cocktail made with tequila, orange juice, and grenadine. It is served in a tall glass with the grenadine syrup slowly sinking to the bottom, creating the sunrise effect.

A Tequila Sunset is made with tequila, orange juice, lime juice, and grenadine. It is usually served in a highball glass and is garnished with a lime wedge and a cherry, creating a sunset effect.

How to make Tequila Sunrise cocktail

For one serving of the Tequila Sunrise cocktail, follow this easy recipe. Preparation time is about five minutes:

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 tots (75ml) Tequila (we recommend Leonista)
  • 6 tots (150ml) orange juice
  • 1 tot (25ml) grenadine syrup
  • 1 cup of ice
  • Garnish: cherry and orange slice

DIRECTIONS

Fill a tall glass with ice cubes, then pour in the tequila and top with orange juice. Slowly pour the grenadine syrup over the back of a spoon so it sinks to the bottom of the glass and creates a sunrise effect. Gently stir the mixture to combine, then garnish with an orange wedge or maraschino cherry and serve.

TIP!

Tequila is an acquired taste. For a more delicate alternative, substitute the Tequila with 1st Principles Organic Vodka.
